Sense & Sensibility – My Father’s Favorite

This is me playing “My Father’s Favorite” by Patrick Doyle from the brilliant movie “Sense & Sensibility.”

I’m sorry that it ends up going out of sync. I don’t know why it does that, but I don’t know how to fix it or if it even can be fixed.

Comments and constructive criticism are welcome! And don’t forget to rate! Thanks! :-)

I got this sheet music from sheet music plus for only $3.95. The direct link to it is: http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/My-Father-s-Favorite/2923666

You can also find “Weep You No More Sad Fountains” along with “The Dreame” entitled as “Selections From ‘Sense And Sensibility.’” for only $4.95. The direct link to it is: http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/Selections-From-Sense-And-Sensibility/2923004

“Weep You No More Sad Fountains” is now up for viewing! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ph3FhtWaFTA

    I play what’s …
I play what’s written in the sheet music. I have a link to the sheet music in the video info. I seem to put in more of a rubato at times, though. Note-wise, I’ll play what’s there. But as far as dynamics go, I play what I feel, not what’s necessarily written. That’s the beautiful thing about interpretation; someone else may have written it, but no two people play it the same way. :)

    But the version you …
But the version you play isn’t the same as the sheet music!
Did you just add some to the beginning?
I far prefer the way you play this.

    Don’t be too hard …
Don’t be too hard on yourself, hon. I’ve been playing piano for eight or nine years now, and I have a lot of experience playing. It just takes practice, I know you’ll get there. I look forward to someday seeing a video of you playing this piece. Good luck and keep at it! :)

And thank you for the rating and favoriting it. :D

I love this song sooo much.
Out of any classical song, this would definitely be my favorite, if you consider it classical.
I want the sheet music, but it would take me forever to finally get the first 2 pages. It’s too difficult for me at the time being.
    =(
It was amazing! Favorited & 5 Stars!

Thank you so much! I agree with the other comments – it is often played too quickly and it looses feeling. Well done – this brought back some lovely memories for me.

Whenever I play this song on the piano, i go watch the movie first and listen to marianne play it. its different from the official soundtrack CD-but it is my favorite way of playing it. Great job! this is a beautiful piece and hard to get the flow of it right. you played it beautifully. keep up the great work!
