For Instance: If I have guitar sheet music can I play it on a mandolin?

Also, which electric-acoustic mandolin should I buy? I have never touched a mandolin in my life, but i am looking to start teaching myself.

yes, I have played mandolin as a second insturment in theatre. They are both C treble clef. However, the parts I learned were difficult, but I don’t play mandolin much.

I’d like to find it for my younger sister. She plays flute, oboe, piano, piccolo, and acoustic guitar. So any of these instruments would work.
