Is there a program that will take a song and turn it into sheet music?
For example, if I have an .mp3 file that someone sent me of a song that he composed, and let’s say I wanted to figure out the notes in that piece of music… Is there a program that will take the file, figure out the notes, and place it into a sheet music -type form so that I can take it from being a song played on acoustic guitar to a song played on piano?
Not really. Music is typically tons of layers of notes so you couldn’t really make sheet music from it. In theory, if it was a single instrument playing a single note each time, it could be done though.
Does anyone have some good violin pieces?
I can’t find any good pieces for violin. The diffuculty doesn’t really matter to me. A name and artist is good, but a website with the sheet music is a plus. Thanks! c:

What are the 4 flat symbols for at the start of guitar sheet music?
I know the 1st one is B Flat, what are the other 3 in order?
Thanks =)
It signifies that you’re in the key of Ab. The flat notes are Ab Bb Db Eb. More importantly, each time the sheet music shows a note on one of those lines, you’ll play it as a flat.
Do you know the memory tool for the lines of the musical staff? Counting up from the bottom, the lines are Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge. (EGBDF) The spaces simply spell FACE which rhymes with space. Every time a line or space has a flat or sharp in the key signature, you play all the corresponding notes on that line (or space) flat or sharp.

How do i write guitar notes onto sheet music but with the notes, not the chord boxes?
How do i write guitar notes onto sheet music but with the notes, not the chord boxes?
like you would do on a piano but on guitar instead? I know all the notes on the frets eg C#, F but how do i write it onto sheet music cos i don’t know whats middle C on guitar. Also can i convert it onto piano if i’ve written it on sheet music?
Machine Head’s factual information is quite correct. The C on a guitar which is played on the 5th string at the 3rd fret is written as middle C, even though pitch-wise it is an octave below middle C.
However, his opinion on the utility of writing guitar music this way is way off. In fact, writing it this way serves to orient the guitar’s range very nicely on the treble clef. In particular, classical or finger picking music works out nicely in that you’ve got the bass notes, normally plucked with the thumb, down at the bottom of the staff, and the melody, on the upper three strings, plucked with the first three fingers (non-thumbs), on the top of the staff, and the whole thing fits nicely on one staff. If you wrote it out in true pitch, you’d have to use two staffs, as with piano music, which would be vastly more cumbersome (on piano it at least makes sense to use two staves because you’re using two hands to play two separate parts).
Yes, you have to use a lot of ledger lines if you move way up the neck and play the really high notes. But guess what, that’s what you have to do on a violin, too. Big deal. Look at the violin part to the "Kreutzer" sonata, you’ve got ledger lines up to the stratosphere, but nobody complains that violin should be written differently.

What string do i use when reading guitar sheet music?
I know i’ve just asked this question but…
I understand the music now after doing some research but what i don’t understand still is how do you know which string it’s on for example it might say an F# on the music but how do i know which string the F# is played on?
Thanks x
An F# 3 ledgerlines below the treble staff is played on string six, fret two. The first space F# could be played on the fourth string, fourth fret or fifth string, ninth fret or even sixth string 14th fret. It all depends on what the other notes you play are and what fingering works most logically.
Apply the same reasoning to the higher F#s.
